Girls Trip: Weekend in Miami

Miami is my home. It’s where I was born and raised, but this past weekend I was bringing three of my girlfriends with me so I knew I had to go all out for this trip in order to show them the best Miami has to offer. Don’t worry, they also got the Cuban experience that ended with a Sunday night meal at my house featuring Ropa Vieja, Arroz con Pollo y Flan for dessert, (not pictured below), but since that was all home-cooked and not available to the general public (sorry ya’ll), I’m highlighting some of the things you can do on your next girls trip to Miami! Three nights, four girls, one city, let’s do this.

Dinner at Mayami

Mayami is a new Mexican restaurant in Wynwood. It’s got a beautiful outdoor space that’s incredibly spacious and was perfect for our party of 6. After 9:30pm it turns into a lounge and so it was the perfect place to start our night with dinner and drinks. The fondue is absolutely incredible and everyone loved there tacos.

R House Drag Brunch + Dasher & Crank

This is an absolute must! I’ve been to R House twice and each time it just gets better and better. For just $50 you get unlimited drinks, SO much food, and an incredible 2 hr show. I lost my voice screaming during this brunch cause the talent had me screaming!! Post drag brunch we ventured over to Dasher & Crank, an ice cream shop in Wynwood that’s oh so very instagrammable.

Nautilus by Arlo

A Miami vacation isn’t complete without a stay in South Beach. This was a great stay for the night. The employees were so nice and accommodating and the hummus platters and salads we ordered by the hotel pool were pretty great too. For the price we got on my favorite booking site, Booking.com. This stay was 100% worth it.

PERFECT PAIRING: Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid & Hummus Platter by the Pool

Malibu Rising is the perfect beach read this summer. It’s mysterious, exciting and all consuming. I haven’t even finished yet but I can already say it’s a must read.
