Happy Pub. Day to Karina Halle!! I was lucky enough to receive and ARC of Where Sea Meets Sky (Thanks Atria!) so hope you guys enjoy my release day review!

Book Description:

A new adult novel that perfectly captures the existential angst of your early twenties with raw wit, fresh insight, and true feeling from a critically adored USA TODAY bestselling author.

Joshua Miles has spent his early twenties spinning his wheels. Working dead-end jobs and living at home has left him exhausted and uninspired, with little energy to pursue his passion for graphic art. Until he meets Gemma Henare, a vivacious out-of-towner from New Zealand. What begins as a one-night stand soon becomes a turning point for Josh. He can’t get Gemma out of his head, even after she has left for home, and finds himself throwing caution to the wind for the first time in his life.

It’s not long before Josh is headed to New Zealand with only a backpack, some cash, and Gemma’s name to go on. But when he finally tracks her down, he finds his adventure is only just beginning. Equally infatuated, Gemma leads him on a whirlwind tour across the beautiful country, opening Josh up to life, lust, love, and all the messy heartache in between. Because, when love drags you somewhere, it might never let go even when you know you have to say goodbye.

Giselle’s Review:

Where Sea Meets Sky is not just a story you read; it’s a journey you take. A journey that you do not take alone, because you take it with the most real characters you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting.

Gemma Henare is what I like to call one brave and bad-ass chick. I mean, the first thing we find out about Gemma is that she traveled across the States, alone!! How crazy-awesome is that?! However, Gemma (like everyone else) doesn’t just have this one side to her. Gemma is trying to discover who she is and what she wants. She’s trying to find herself and I could totally and completely relate to that. Gemma was not perfect (especially when around a certain someone) but this made her character so much more real and raw in my eyes and I adored that.

Josh. Miles. How can I describe sweet and sexy Josh without sounding like a total creepy fangirl? Oh right- I can’t. Josh Miles has quickly, and very sneakily, positioned himself up on my list of top book boyfriends, and I could actually not be happier about that.  I’m fully aware that no one can be perfect, but I think Josh totally wiped that notion from my mind because he is perfect. Josh isn’t afraid to be vulnerable and open, and on the exterior he just radiates “bad-ass, bad boy” with his lip piercing and tattoos and inky-black air. *cue drool*

So Karina Halle, please tell me where I can find a Josh Miles, because I will gladly pick up my stuff and move to Canada or New Zealand or wherever you direct me. 😉

Speaking of New Zealand- holy crap, can I just fly there right now?! I’ve always loved traveling, the idea of traveling everywhere and anywhere, and I’ve always dreamed of going to every single place on the map, but my new obsession with visiting New Zealand is just not okay (mainly because I’m kind of broke. LOL)! One of my favorite things about Where Sea Meets Sky , and Karina Halle herself, is that it, and she, opens up a new world to us through her writing. She travels to all these beautiful and magical places and then writes a story which allows us to feel like we have traveled there. For that, all I have to say is: “You freaking rock and inspire me daily, Karina Halle.”

Where Sea Meets Sky is one journey you will not want to miss out on.

If you’re looking for a book about the journey we take to discover who we are, with an amazing setting, gorgeously flawed characters, and of course- romance, Where Sea Meets Sky is the book to read, ASAP.
