If you haven’t picked up (or even thought about picking up) The Animal Under the Fur you are doing something wrong!!! Okay, so maybe that was little intense but friends, this book is the definition of intense (in the best way imaginable of course)!
I am a huge fan of action-packed romance, but I tend to find that most of the ones I pick up center around a somewhat helpless/clueless female and a badass hero, OR they don’t end up having enough angst for my liking. If you’ve ever felt like this, PICK UP TAUTF!!
The Animal Under the Fur is the perfect blend of action, suspense, angst, banter, and chemistry. I seriously could not put it down, and I’m not just saying that because I love the gal who wrote it.
3/Nashville is such a well written character because she is: consistent, the true definition of a badass chick who doesn’t need anyone to save her and she literally fears nothing. 3 is the perfect assassin, but she does not play well with others, so you can only imagine the drama that ensues when she’s paired up with the smooth and arrogant Carter Smith.
My love for 3 goes neck and neck with that for Carter because, while I absolutely loved her independent & badass self, I couldn’t help but fall hard for the incredibly charming and confident Mr. Smith (wow ok, weird coincidence because this book is reminiscent of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and I am all here for it.)
Anyways, as hard as 3 tried not to laugh at Carter’s one-liners, she couldn’t help but crack a smile or two at his witty self and neither could I (though I definitely cracked more smiles than she did, but I’m easily swayed).
Not only was the banter between 3 and Carter EVERYTHING, but there’s also a subplot going on that deals with 3 and her past and it will seriously keep you guessing and on the edge. What more could you ask for in a book?
