Make It Right by Megan Erickson

Book description:

Max Payton lives by two rules:
Size and strength win any fight, and never show weakness.

When a rash of assaults sends Bowler University for a tail spin, Max volunteers to help teach a self-defense class. One of the other instructors is the beautiful pixie-faced girl he keeps butting heads with…and who challenges everything he thought he knew.

Lea Travers avoids guys like Max – cocky jocks who assume she’s fragile because of a disability caused by a childhood accident. She likes to be in control, and something about being with Max makes her feel anything but. But during the moments he lets his guard down, Lea sees a soul as broken inside as she is outside. Trusting him is a whole other problem…

When the assaults ramp up and hit close to home, Lea and Max must learn, before it’s too late, that true strength can come from vulnerability…and giving in to trust is sometimes the only way to make things right.

Silvana’s Review:

This book has made me a crying-mess. More than I already am. I have this huge, unconditional love for this series. I’m a die-hard fan, I admit. I love Megan Erickson, she rocks and her books rock and she should be queen of the world. Bless her heart because she gave us Alec, Max, and Cam.

Those boys have taken a hold of my heart and they live there now. Forever. This is Max and Lea’s story. It is epic and fire-y and everything you could possibly want from a Megan Erickson book. She delivers us some banter and eye-sex and good sex(y) scenes that you want to shove a bucket full of ice over your head after. Max finds redemption and seriously, I didn’t /hate/ him in Make It Count. I don’t really come to hate a lot of characters; don’t really like the word “hate” either. But Max wasn’t one of them. He makes me swoon, I admit it. Since page one, and since any page, that guy will make me swoon any time. I loved, LOVED the banter with Lea. Always and forever. And I like that they already shared feelings since before the book starts. You can read that they feel attracted to each other from some time ago. I love that they challenged each other and tried their best for each other. This couple has become one of my favorites from 2014 and probably all time.

I seriously didn’t dislike anything about Make It Right. From Lea’s dad to Kat and Alec’s return since Make It Count, everything was A+ and a gold star. MILLIONS OF GOLD STARS FOR MRS. ERICKSON.

Kat and Alec: I am so pleased to see them back and DANCING AGAIN COUGH. They need a whole book of them dancing and being close together in the dance floor, yes yes indeed. Kat drunk is always a great scene. She’s the cutest. AND MR. ALEC STONE HELLO TO YOU, COME AND I WILL SHARE A PIECE OF MY CAKE WITH YOU. Sorry, I just get too excited whenever Alec Stone is involved.

ALSO the cooking in this novel is so strong. I wish I could cook like all of them and make pies and cookies any time. I wish I could have a Max of my own. Yumm. My favorite scene is probably any time Max showed those big eyes of his and vulnerability was all we could see. I loved his moments of trust and you could see inside him and see why he was that way. You really get a full tour of Max’s head and thank god because it was truly everything.

I can’t wait for Make It Last, Cam’s story. Megan is such a tease giving us a sneak at the first chapter. I’m clutching my heart because I know I’m so going to lose it when I get to it. I totally did lose it when I read Make It Count and Make It Right but I have three hearts, each for every Bowler University book. If you haven’t read this series, do it, you are missing out. A LOT. No kidding.
