Book Description:

For Tracey Rooks, life with her grandparents on a Wyoming farm has always been simple. But after her grandmother’s death, Tracey is all her grandfather has. So when Eagle Elite University announces its annual scholarship lottery, Tracey jumps at the opportunity to secure their future and enters. She isn’t expecting much-but then she wins. And life as she knows it will never be same . . .

The students at Eagle Elite are unlike any she’s ever met . . . and they refuse to make things easy for her. There’s Nixon, gorgeous, irresistible, and leader of a group that everyone fears: The Elect. Their rules are simple. 1. Do not touch The Elect. 2. Do not look at The Elect. 3. Do not speak to The Elect. No matter how hard she tries to stay away, The Elect are always around her and it isn’t long until she finds out the reason why they keep their friends close and their enemies even closer. She just didn’t realize she was the enemy — until it was too late.

Giselle’s Review:

Rachel Van Dyken has completely swept me away into the world of Eagle Elite. What I got from this book was definitely not what I expected, since I most definitely did not expect to start this novel and not stop until three hours later. Yup, you heard right. I read this novel in three hours, no stops, no distractions, no in between Insta-stalking or twittering. I was 110 percent invested in this novel.

Elite has this whole mysterious/dark rich kid prep-school vibe,  but that’s just at first. Once you begin to learn more about the characters in this story its just like BAM – you’re hit with a whole new vibe. Elite will have you on the edge of your seat, or if you are like me, bed,  and it will not let you go. I spent my whole afternoon stuck in the world of the Elect and Elite and everything in between.

The characters in this novel are all ones that you can’t help but love and hate at the same time. You will love more characters than you hate but at times you can’t help but give a little love to the ones you may or may not hate a bit *cough*Nixon*cough*. Don’t worry ladies, Nixon will probably get a lot more love from you than you think. Yes, he is an asshole but he is definitely one of those assholes that is so intriguing you can’t help but to want to dig a little deeper into his character – and trust me, you may just fall in love with what you find.

The writing in this novel, if you hadn’t already figured out, will completely draw you in and completely grab ahold of you and not let you go. Rachel Van Dyken writes some incredible scenes that make you feel as if you are watching a movie, instead of reading words on a page.

The action and drama and mystery and all around sexiness that is Elite will have you reading the entire novel in one sitting, and then it will have you buying the second book in the series, Elect, ASAP. Rachel will have your head spinning with questions, in the best way possible of course, and you will not be able to put her books down until you’ve gained some answers. (Trust me I’m currently reading Elect and I’m still majorly grasping for answers 😉 )

So do I recommend this book? HELL YES. Pick it up ASAP!
