Synopsis: A sweet and steamy New Adult Romance from Amazon bestselling author of the Ruthless People series, J.J. McAvoy…

After an erotic one-week fling with a musician she meets in a bar, Thea Cunning never expects to see Levi Black again. Then Monday morning comes around, and she discovers that her former lover is not only her professor, but he’s also one of the top criminal lawyers in the state of Massachusetts.

With everyone in class vying to be one of the twelve disciples—a group of twelve students that Professor Black takes under his wing—tensions run high. Thea considers dropping his class, given their passionate week together and their undeniable chemistry. After all, there are other (less infuriatingly sexy) law professors on campus.

But to accomplish her goal and get her father out of prison, Thea knows she needs to learn under the best of the best—and that’s Levi Black.

But can she learn under the best, without being under the best?

Giselle’s Review:

There are people who are moved by the world, and then there were people who moved the world. Levi Black was the latter of the two.

Fans of the show How To Get Away With Murder, listen up! And even if you don’t know of this show, if you’re a fan of sexy, smart, and intimidating lawyers, Black Rainbow needs to be on your TBR, like, yesterday.
Black Rainbow is so incredibly entertaining- as I find most of J.J.’s books to be. I felt like I was watching an amazing movie, but I was reading it.
I’ve always been a huge fan of criminal law. I love the action of it all, the courtroom scenarios, the fast paced-ness and the intelligence of if all. In the future, I would definitely not mind studying criminal law, so add some romance to this story and I was HOOKED.

The banter, the writing, the plot- all of it was written so smoothly and managed to keep me glued to the page. Black Rainbow definitely had me considering a career in criminal law, and not just cause of the extremely sexy romance between the main character’s.
The relationship Thea and Levi have is definitely not what I expected because it isn’t your usual “teacher/student” love affair. This is so much more. Thea and Levi in the classroom setting are very different from the Thea and Levi we see outside of the law setting, so that was something I really enjoyed.
Okay, so it’s getting late now, and I hope I’ve convinced you all to get this book. As a fan of criminal law and romance with lots of banter (wink, wink), I definitely recommend this novel by J.J. McAvoy, and all her other novels as well! <3
