All Lined Up by Cora Carmack

Book description:

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That’s what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn’t always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It’s obliterated.

Dallas doesn’t know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn’t know that Dallas is his new coach’s daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

Giselle’s Review:

I want- no I NEED more Dallas and Carson!! Right Now…Now Cora….Please 🙂

So Cora Carmack is one of my favorite writers and after meeting her last summer and seeing her again this summer at Book Bash, she may also be on the list of my favorite people ever because she is so sweet, a great conversationalist, and if you’ve read any of her books you know she is just straight up hilarious!

Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It are some of my favorite novels and I honestly didn’t think Cora could top my love for Finding It (I mean come on, a girl spontaneously going to Europe, finding herself, and finding a hot guy along the way, that’s hard to top in my book), but All Lined Up might just have done that.

Personally, I connected so well with these characters that I felt as if I truly knew them. Maybe cause Dallas reminded me a lot of myself, she’s honest, smart-mouthed, but also a little bit of an introvert, and I could totally imagine Stella being a friend of mine and getting me in all sorts of trouble. Oh, and what’s not to love about Carson McClain.

I fell so, so hard for Carson McClain. He’s witty, sweet, sarcastic, funny, dedicated, and sexy. Throughout the novel I could not find one thing to not love about Carson. I just wanted to take him out of this book and have him all for myself. However, I loved him with Dallas so I refrained from attempting to do such a thing.

Anyways, lets talk about dialogue. If you are looking for a book with amazing dialogue this book is definitely the book for you. Sometimes I come across books that have amazing writing but the dialogue isn’t as strong as I’d like it to be, and it just doesn’t draw me in, but that is definitely not the case with this book. Dallas and Carson have some of the best, strongest, and wittiest dialogue I’ve ever read. Their conversations put a huge grin on my face, and every time Carson said something romantically cheesy my heart may or may not have actually spontaneously combusted. <3

The humor in this book is really my type of humor too. It’s sassy, sarcastic, and extremely witty. Cora Carmack always manages to make me laugh with her novels and this one did just that. I love that her main characters usually contain a dash of awkward because, well, we all have a bit awkward in us, so it’s a lot easier to connect with a character who can make you laugh because she isn’t perfect in every single way.

All Lined Up combines romance, with perseverance, and chasing your dreams. It’s a book that reminds us that some days will be harder than other days along the way, and that there are no easy days, especially in football. 😉

So to sum up how I feel about this book, and how I will feel if I find out Carson and Dallas get another book, you can just look at the gif below.
